Seki City in Gifu Prefecture has been known as the land of sword-making since the Kamakura Era. Hattori Riki, which began in this town, inherited both the traditions and techniques of the original swordsmiths. The major characteristic of nail clippers finished by the craftsmen is the sharpness of the edge. The special carburizing materials used for the blades, ensures they maintain a comfortably sharp edge for a long time. Another advantage is that the gap between the blades is double that of normal clippers, allowing even thick nails to be cut with ease. A part of the grip is made of natural Japanese material including wild cherry wood, so that the luster only increases with use.
